Canards Sanglants

EN

Cruel, fanciful, comical or moving, the Canards – thin pamphlets distributed in working-class areas in the 16th and 17th centuries – were the ancestors of papers and periodical publications. Agnès Geoffray chose here to reproduce the standfirsts alone, introductions to these gruesome accounts, remaining incomplete, thus favouring the narrative projection of the worst fantasies, inhibitions and fears.

FR
